Jeans for Genes logoEvery year the staff and pupils at my school support this annual event to raise money for children with genetic disorders, by putting £2 in the fund and then being allowed to wear jeans or denim instead of our normal attire. Some strange interpretations of this dress code can normally be seen! Do spiderman outfits really constitute jeans or denim?!!

The charity provide free resource packs for schools, with different packs available for different age groups, nursery, primary or secondary. The charity also sells goods to raise money, including some great, colourful bags and t-shirts.

The money raised from Jeans for Genes day goes to a number of different charities that work in the field of genetics, researching to find cures and treatments for the thousands of genetic disorders that affect children today.

It's great to be able to relax the rules for a day, so on Friday 3rd October, what will you wear?
