Geography Action is an annual awareness program to help teachers and educators promote fluency in Geography.

The National Geographic Society works to broaden awareness of geographical issues, the environment and diverse cultures. Through Geography Action the society is providing free teaching resources  for schools  for Geography Awareness week. There is a toolkit, Mapping the America's, with activities and maps to download.

Included are teaching resources to help create a giant map of the Americas, big enough to cover a classroom floor or the side of a school building! Or learn more about the cultures, climates and landmarks of the Americas with lesson plan and video resources from the site.
