The fear of these unexploded landmines prevents children playing freely or even travelling to and from their local school. The No More Landmines campaign provides support for victims of landmines as well as working to clear areas of unexploded mines. Great progress has been made over the last 10 years, but there is still much work to be done. The No More Landmines week will give pupils around the world an opportunity to learn more about the impact of landmines and show them how to become part of the solution to solve the problem. The website offers lesson plans and resources in it's Teachers and Schools pack, which is available free on CD, to help raise awareness. It gives ideas for fundraising and short film resources are available online too. As part of the week there is a design a T- Shirt competition and an opportunity for students to name a demining dog. The free resource pack provides information and facts about the role dogs play in clearing unexploded mines. The website also has downloadable photos, resources and a film about cluster bombs and their impact. Twitter this article about No More Landmines
